1) Christmas lighting in the city
On November 28 were turned on the Christmas lights in Lisbon. Traditionally, the city hosts Christmas decorations at several different points. The favorite places by those who want to enjoy this Christmas atmosphere are: Praça do Comércio Rua Augusta, Rossio and Armazéns do Chiado.
2) Christmas Video Mapping
The Terreiro do Paço receives a multimedia show that symbolizes the Christmas spirit through a story with the theme “Christmas Wishes”. The exhibition of the film with 15 minutes duration should happen in front of the arch of Rua Augusta between 14 and 23 of December with daily sessions at 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 8:30.
3) The arrival of Santa Claus at Lisbon Zoo
On December 6th, 2014 Santa Claus and his elves will arrive at Lisbon Zoo. They will surprise everyone with a unique show, in the company of the Penguins of the movie”The Penguins of Madagascar”. The complete schedule of this day can be seen in Zoo website.
4) Christmas concerts in the churches of Lisbon
Once again the city of Lisbon will promote a Christmas Concert cycle. The 2014 edition will take place in various ecclesiastical heritage sites of the city where art and spirituality converge in an excellent music program. Entrance to the concerts are free by local capacity .
5) Christmas market of Campo Pequeno
The Campo Pequeno will promote another edition of its Christmas Market. The goal is to recreate the spirit of the old Portuguese markets where there was always a bit of everything. All products on display are made in Portugal. The market will be held from December 4 to 8, _ 2014 in the Praça dos Toiros of Campo Pequeno.
6) Ride of Christmas lights
On December 13, Sunday, will take place the 2nd Ride of Christmas lights. The tour can be done by bicycle (7 €) or walk (5 €) and the registration fee reverts to help children from poor families SFA and the SPEM (Portuguese Society of Multiple Sclerosis). More information on the event`s website.
7) World Christmases Concert
On December 7th the Gulbenkian Auditorium will receive the World Christmases concert that will bring traditional songs from different countries. Including Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Goa, Timor, Spain, France, England, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Japan, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Nigeria, South Africa and United States of America, singing some of their most famous Christmas songs. Tickets cost € 10.
8) Christmas Village and Popular Fair in Cascais
Between December 5th, 2014 and January 6th, 2015 Cascais become a Christmas village. In addition to lighting and decoration, there will be a distinct programming such as a solidarity Christmas Fair at the Estoril Casino garden with many attractions for children. 9) Christmas Train at the Tapada de Mafra
The Tapada de Mafra will make a very original theater piece with artists to mingle with the animals in a show that is happening in various parts of Tapada. The train of 50 seats, will lead the audience to the different stage.s The shows will take place between 6 and 14 of December. The schedule and ticket prices can be found on their website.
10) ChristmasVillage of Sintra
Sintra, once again, will have the Christmas Village, takes place in the Parque da Liberdade and Historical Center. Visitors can go to Valenças Palace and attend a historical animation on the influence of King Fernando II in the Christmas tree tradition, can visit the Christmas Bazaar, the home of Santa Claus and even take a ride the electric Christmas.
