Movember is coming to Lisbon!

November is a special month for the NGO Movember Foundation. Since 2003 the organization challenges men to grow a mustache. It may seem just one of these viral games from the internet, but the cause behind  is noble. The goal is to sensibilize and raise awareness for male health problems, such as prostate cancer and depression. The mustache is the analogy to “change the face” of men’s health.

This year the whiskey brand Jameson has created an initiative for portugueses to contribute more actively. On November 1st, starting at 4pm, Figaro’s barbershop professionals will be at the 1st floor of Mercado da Ribeira to trim the mustache of those who want to join the campaign. For each client that participates, the brand will donate € 1 to the organization. On December 1st, starting at 6pm, the barbershop back to the market to take the mustaches off.

Anyone who wants to contribute more, can leave a tip in the barbershop – these will revert to the NGO. Or simply go to the Movember Foundation site – there is information about all the possibilities to contribute and also the project initiatives.
