Between July, 5th and October, 15th – 2014, Alexandre Farto, known as Vhils, makes his first solo exhibition in a Portuguese artistic institution, besides being the largest ever held by the artist. The exhibition, which takes place in the Museum of Electricity in Lisbon brings work that was developed exclusively for this space.

Vhils uses a technique of removing layers of walls and other surfaces with the aim of establishing reflections on urban experiences and the interaction between people and the environment. In this exhibition, called Dissecção, the artist created works that illustrate the collective memory of the cities, the vertigo of its images and the stories of its residents.

Beyond the interpretation and meaning of the work, it is worth visiting the exhibition also for its visual. The works impress by their beauty and bring somehow an interaction with visitors. Even children enjoy this program.
